Bronx Haven High School

Bronx Haven High School is East Side House's newest educational initiative and collaboration. A partnership with the New York City Department of Education, New Visions for Public Schools, and East Side House Settlement, the school is designed to serve students who are between the ages of 16 and 21, have been enrolled in a New York City public high school for at least one year, are overage and under-credited for their grade level, and who are at serious risk of dropping out.

Bronx Haven High School offers a rigorous, accelerated, and highly personalized education that helps students regain the ground they lost and earn the credits needed to progress toward a high school diploma.

After opening its doors in September 2008 to 105 students, Bronx Haven recently celebrated its first graduation. 16 members of the first class graduated; 15 of the 16 graduates were admitted to college, and 11 have enrolled. The school expects 40-45 more graduates this June.
