Bronx Haven High School

A partnership with the New York City Department of Education, New Visions for Public Schools, and East Side House Settlement, Bronx Haven High School is designed to serve students who are between the ages of 16 and 21, have been enrolled in a New York City public high school for at least one year, are overage and under-credited for their grade level, and who are at serious risk of dropping out.

Bronx Haven High School offers a rigorous, accelerated, and highly personalized education that helps students regain the ground they lost and earn the credits needed to progress toward a high school diploma. A Bronx Haven education leads to graduation and college application or employment, plus opportunity for career preparation through paid internships.

In a community where the drop-out rate has historically been as high as 50%, our students are reconnecting with their educational goals: 69 students have graduated from Bronx Haven since it opened in September 2008, and 100% of the graduates of the Class of 2011 were accepted into college.
